Early Childhood Newsletter 4.24.2023
Dear PCS Families!
It is hard to believe that we are moving into the last week of April! Once May arrives the end of the year kicks into high gear! However, before the month of May arrives we are excited to celebrate this week with our Multicultural Fair on Thursday. There has been so much planning and preparation that has gone into this day and we know it is going to be a great celebration of what makes PCS so special!
أخبار المكتبة:
Kindergarten and 1st grade are finishing up a unit on Digital Citizenship in the Library. Over the past three weeks, we have talked about ways to be safe, responsible, and respectful online. Each week students were given a note to bring home to share what they learned. Take some time to talk about what they are learning about online safety and set up some guidelines for using technology at home! Let Mrs. Ramsey know if your student talked with you about what they learned by sending a quick email to vramsey@premiercharterschool.org and she will have a small prize (bookmark or pencil) for them! Look out for digital citizenship bookmarks with QR code links to a song and ebook about online safety coming home soon!
Commonsense Media is a great resource with media ratings and reviews, parent tips for navigating technology with kids, and more! Click on the link to explore the site!
Only two more weeks to borrow library books! All library books are due by Monday, May 15th. Please look for overdue notes sent home and help your child look for lost books! Let Mrs. Ramsey know if you are unable to find library materials so we can update our system! Thanks for your help!\
In search of gently used books! Mrs. Ramsey will have a little free bookstore for kids to choose from after borrowing is over. We have donated books on hand, but if you have any books in good condition you are looking to pass along, we will include them in our free store! Thanks!
Summer Camp Opportunity:
Sherwood Forest is still accepting youth in 1st-6th grade to participate in a low-cost residential summer camp program. Sherwood Forest's residential program consists of traditional camp activities like canoeing and tie dye, as well as reading, ecology, and social and emotional learning. Program length ranges from 7 to 28 days, depending on camper's age. For more information or to register for camp, reach out to the Camp Director at alexisn@sherwoodforeststl.org or visit https://www.sherwoodforeststl.org/register/.
